Situated at The View on Vaal Resort @ Abrahamsrust, we offer a wide variety of cruises, including 1-Hour Leisure Cruises and Lunch Cruises, as well as Private Cruises for those seeking a more exclusive atmosphere. We currently have two vessels available: Aqua Lounge Classic (Maximum capacity of 50 guests), Aqua Lounge Premium (Maximum capacity of 110 guests). All vessels are SAMSA approved.

Our Vaal River cruises are suitable for couples, families, groups of friends, celebrations and corporate outings. Whether you are looking for a short weekend activity, want to combine a cruise with lunch, or need a private boat for a special occasion, there is an option to suit the experience you have in mind.

Aqua Lounge operates two vessels, Aqua Lounge Classic and Aqua Lounge Premium, allowing us to accommodate anything from smaller gatherings to larger groups. Both vessels are SAMSA approved, with experienced crew on board.

Sit back in the onboard lounge, enjoy the views along the riverbanks and spend some quality time away from the usual rush. Our river boat cruises are also conveniently located for guests travelling from the Vaal Triangle and surrounding Gauteng areas.

1-Hour Leisure Cruises on the Vaal River

If you simply want to get out onto the water and enjoy the scenery, our 1-Hour Leisure Cruises are a great choice.

These cruises offer an easy way to experience a boat trip on the Vaal River without taking up your entire day. Relax in the onboard lounge while listening to music and watching the riverbanks pass by. It is well suited to couples, families and groups of friends looking for something different to do over a weekend or public holiday.

Light snacks and beverages can be purchased from the onboard cash bar. The one-hour cruises generally operate on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, subject to availability, making advance confirmation worthwhile when planning your visit.

2-Hour Lunch Cruises

Want to spend a little longer on the river? Our 2-Hour Lunch Cruises combine a scenic Vaal River cruise with a meal served onboard.

The boat is arranged in a restaurant-style layout, creating a relaxed setting where you can enjoy lunch while cruising along the river. A cash bar is also available onboard. Lunch cruises are offered on selected weekends and public holidays and bookings need to be made in advance.

It is an appealing option for birthday outings, family get-togethers, couples, groups of friends and anyone looking for a lunch experience that goes beyond booking a conventional restaurant table.

Instead of looking at the river from the bank, you get to spend two hours travelling along it while enjoying your meal and the surrounding scenery.

Our lunch boat cruises are public cruises, so you may share the vessel with other guests. If you would prefer to have the boat exclusively for your group, a private cruise can be arranged instead.

Private Vaal River Cruises for Celebrations and Events

For birthdays, corporate functions, weddings, year-end events or other special occasions, our Private Cruises give your group exclusive use of an Aqua Lounge vessel.

Private boat hire allows you to plan the cruise around your event rather than joining a scheduled public cruise. Depending on the vessel and booking requirements, arrangements can include your preferred departure time, cruise duration, catering, welcoming drinks, décor and music.

Aqua Lounge Classic can accommodate private groups of up to 50 guests, while Aqua Lounge Premium caters for larger functions of up to 110 people. The Premium vessel includes an upper and lower deck, making it particularly well suited to larger corporate events and celebrations.

Catering options are also available for private cruises, including informal platters and more structured meal options. Vegetarian, vegan and Halaal catering can be arranged on request.
